To obtain Breda quality, we select every single piece of walnut wood carefully and directly, that will become the valuable stock of a high value-added product dedicated to those who made the art of hunting their passion.
Walnut wood, still damp as it’s freshly cut, is carefully inspected, selected, categorised and marked to then be placed on the pallets, ready for the phase of natural ageing.
Natural drying of walnut for rifle stocks
Several months have passed since the selection of the first wet sketch that will soon become a new splendid stock for the production of hunting rifles with the Breda brand.
The precious walnut wood rested in the open air in a completely natural way, sheltered from the elements, to allow evaporation of the humidity inside the piece: nature knows how to do its duty perfectly, with no necessity to resort to methods of rapid drying that could weaken the fibres and therefore the future stock of the rifle.
The natural oil finish for rifle stocks
For the production of Breda shotguns are used only walnut sets with a natural oil finish: the process is carried out manually by expert stocks craftsmen and can lasts up to 20 days; in this way the veins of the walnut are brought out to their highest degree of beauty.
