Zenith SL ICE MIRROR. The reflection of excellence
Only few gunsmiths can boast of having an O&U in their catalogue with a Mirror finishing. The preparation phases of this model are extremely complex in order to obtain, strictly by hand, a perfectly ‘mirror-like’ surface. The skill of master gunsmiths in handling such a jewel is put to the test in order to obtain simply perfect surfaces.
Once the receiver is completely prepared, master gunsmiths at Breda can start with the several phases of polishing until they obtain a surface with a unique shine a brilliance, the true mirror effect, on which stand out the engraving of Breda logo and the decoration of the hinge pin.
The upper part of the receiver is finished with a micro-shot peening effect in order to avoid light reflection while shooting on the platform and giving to it a delicate roughness that contrasts and at the same time complements the extreme smoothness of the mirrored surfaces.
Aesthetics is followed by technology: Zenith L embodies all of Zenith’s technical merits, in particular the inside of the barrels, which undergoes a meticulous polishing process and is combined with a 90mm forcing cone in order to obtain an extremely accurate barrel with a well distributed shot-pattern and a mild recoil for a better shot stability and shot doubling. The bore chosen for Zenith L barrels is 18,60mm for sporting or trap version with interchangeable chokes and 18,40 for trap version with fixed chokes.
Everything is completed by the use of superior grade walnut wood, in particular for Zenith L we use a class 3 wood, meticulously hand-polished and oiled.
